Using instrumentation to better manage your .NET applications and services
On January 24, 2012, I gave a hastily pulled-together presentation on Windows Performance Counters. These pages are the edited and hopefully improved version of that presentation.
Windows Performance Counters are underutilized in the .NET projects I've met when coming into new positions. They are very simple to use, extremely efficient at providing valuable metrics, and yet rarely included in even high-availability or performance-sensitive systems. On these pages, I make the case for putting them into your applications.
